CONFERENCE

Symbolic gestures of the hands and fingers, Mudrās belong to all traditions. The term Mudrā generally refers to the postures or movements of the fingers and hands. We distinguish the stylized Mudrās taught by the Ṛṣis in order to act on the being, the natural Mudrās of the daily life linked to our 5 senses and our 5 motor organs (Indriyas). These stylized gestures seem simple but their power and their effects are noticeable on all levels of the being: physical, emotional and mental.
The literal meaning of Mudrā means “seal” “imprint”. Our daily gestures, like any emotional or psychic event, are recorded by our body. With time and according to their nature, these traces can block the flow of energy. According to the traditional Indian teachings, the effects of Mudrās vibrate through 72,000 vital energy channels (Nādis) to reach the central nervous system. The precision of the stylized Mudrās helps, by restoring the energy circulation, to relieve the tensions accumulated in the large joints and to remove the emotional blocking.
